Condition: Ureteral stones. Reason for visit: Sudden severe flank pain; emergency extracorporeal lithotripsy. Outcome: Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) was arranged on the same day. The procedure went smoothly. Following medication and increased fluid intake, the stones were successfully passed, and the flank pain was completely relieved. Review: The coordination between the emergency department and the urology department was seamless. Dr. Zhao demonstrated exceptional clinical skill; the ultrasound localization was precise, and the stones were successfully fragmented in a single session. The physician maintained an excellent professional demeanor toward emergency patients, acting efficiently and with high expertise, which quickly alleviated my pain. I highly recognize the overall medical standards of the Sixth Medical Center of PLA General Hospital.
